SARIKEI: SMK St Anthony divided its 250 Form 5 students into 11 classrooms upon the reopening of the school yesterday in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP).

Principal Vincent Liong said this involved using the main hall, lecture hall, conference room, and unoccupied Transition to Form 4 classrooms.

He said the school’s 16 Form 6 students remained in their original classroom.

He noted full cooperation from students and teachers, adding while all Form 6 students were present, there were several Form 5 absentees who were either sick or observing home quarantine after returning from Peninsular Malaysia.

Liong attributed the full cooperation of students to an SOP and new normal video, which the school shared on WhatsApp.

He said in the past few weeks, teachers and parent-teacher association members carried out preparation works in compliance with the SOP.

This included sanitisation of all classrooms and other premises to ensure the safety of students and staff.

He said a technical committee was also set up to ensure all facilities were in place and all SOP strictly adhered to.

Liong added online classes would continue for the school’s Transition to Form 4 students.
