KUCHING: Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) is collaborating with Bidayuh Graduates Association (BGA) to draft a 10-year strategic plan from 2021 to 2030 for their community.

DBNA and BGA is organizing a retreat from Nov 15 to 17 at Bung Bratak Heritage Centre in Bau to be attended by 100 people to deliberate on issues affecting the Bidayuh community.

Prof Dr Gabriel Tonga Noweg and Prof Dr Andrew Alek Tuen will be the chief facilitators for this retreat.

The issues to be discussed are education, native customary rights (NCR) land, culture and heritage and socio economic matters including promoting entrepreneurship among the Bidayuhs.

Yesterday, a delegation led by DBNA president Datu Ik Pahon Joyik paid a courtesy call on Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Dato Sri Michael Manyin to invite him to officiate at the closing of the retreat on Nov 17.

Manyin, who is DBNA advisor, will also listen to presentations from the working groups involved in the retreat.
